Busy Day

Today was our third open house. It was a beautiful day, and we had 10 groups of people through, plus another one at 6 p.m. tonight. I think we had two earlier this week. To be honest, I am ready to sell the house.

Last night I got the upstairs pretty much ready to go, but had to do a quick once over this morning. This morning, I cleaned the downstairs and let the kids play and watch a little TV while this was going on. Unfortunately, we missed church, as Gavin was playing at another church, and I just couldn't get everything done on time to take a shower AND get out of here on time.

We left around 11:45 a.m. to meet Gavin for lunch, which was yummy! Then I took Pearl to get her five-year-old pictures taken, and Gavin took the kids to a park to play for a few minutes before they could come back to the house. They took naps. Pearl and I got back around 3:45 p.m., and I rested until 5 or so. Then we got up, had a quick snack and left again. (Gavin had another gig tonight.)

I took the kids to Hy-Vee, which was rather uneventful until we went to leave. Pearl had asked to ride the horse when we got there, and I said maybe if she was good, she could when we left. She remembered, so she hopped up on the horse, and I deposited my quarter. Within a few seconds it was quite obvious that Macey also wanted to ride the horse, as she said, "babble, babble, Pearl, babble babble, Pearl" and kept pointing to Pearl and the horse. So I let her ride for a few seconds with Pearl, then the horse stopped and the hysterics began. Seriously, that girl can scream when she's unhappy. I couldn't help but wonder what the other customers were thinking. Macey was still upset when we got to the van!! Goodness. Who knew??

Thankfully, we finally made it home, ate some food for supper ... I wouldn't actually call it a well-planned meal, but there was food, so that counts, right? Now, I'm going to get them all ready for bed. Oh wait ... Macey discovered my towel drawer and is using a dish cloth to wipe her nose. Fabulous!

I love it! Did Miles want to ride the horse? Where is the equal opportunities? Glad you survived another crazy day!
