The mind of a four-year-old continues to amaze me. Yesterday, we visited the Mothers of Multiples rummage sale. I found a few cute things for the girls, but not much for The Miles Man. I did find adorable matching shirts for the tots that say, "My grandparents don't spoil me. They're just very accommodating." They were two cute to pass up, even if they were a little more than I wanted to spend. Once I get them washed up, I'll have to post a pic with them wearing them.
Anyway, I also picked up a few toys for the kids, and Pearl picked out a baby bed. Because the three we already have, are not enough. Oh well ... I've spent $1 worse ways. So, we check out, and I pay and Pearl then decides she needs something else. She heads to the the toy table and picks out a baby. I check it out ... it's in pretty good condition and the outfit can be washed, so I let her get it. On the way home she names her new baby Ziana. I don't really know where she comes up with these names. Anyway ... we get her home, give her a bath and wash her clothes with the other new toys. Pearl is super excited and makes a little bed for her last night, as I haven't cleaned up the one she got.
On to today. We stayed home this morning, as Gavin had to work and taking three kids to church by myself is a little overwhelming. So, while I was working on some stuff in the kitchen, Pearl was watching some Playhouse Disney in the living room. All of a sudden, she comes into the kitchen with Ziana and says she's sorry. Never a good opening line. So I ask, why? And Pearl shows me on of Ziana's fingers that has been mutilated by the teeth of our resident preschooler. So, I ask her why she did this. She said she didn't know. I just tell her that I'm sad, as I thought she could take care of her things better. There were tears.
At lunch, when Gavin came home, he asked her why she had bit the finger, and she said, "Mom thought I was sitting out in the living room watching tv nicely with Ziana, but I wasn't." Oh my!
So the good news ... Super glue to the rescue. I think Ziana has survived her first (and hopefully) last chewed up finger. Yea for super glue. As to whether or not she'll be returned to Pearl's custody is yet to be determined. The people in charge haven't conferenced about the situation ... oh the red tape of a beuracracy (or the busyness of Mom and Dad!) :-)

Great blog! It's sad that I'm just seeing it for the first time today, at work. Ha. Bad husby.

That is a great story! I think Ziana needs to come to KC for recovery.
