Here's a recipe for easy and good granola. Pearl made some to deliver to some local firefighters yesterday.
Easy Cranberry Granola (from allrecipes.com)
Ingredients:
4 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups wheat germ
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped almonds (we used slivered almonds)
1 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup vegetable oil 1
1/4 cups honey
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2. Mix oats, wheat germ, walnuts, almonds and dried cranberries in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the remaining ingredients. Drizzle the wet ingredients over the dry ingredients and stir to coat evenly. Spread mixture out in a thin layer on an ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 30 to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely before storing in an airtight container. Granola will become crunchier as it cools.
*I'd recommend to give it a stir or two as it cools. :-)
