Things I take for granted

Okay, so there are probably a lot, but the one I would like to write about is my van's CD player. It is a great little thing, as when we are traveling, we can play the kids' music/stories and travel, for the most part, in peace.

This weekend, I actually remembered to grab all of our Praise Baby and Go Fish CDs, along with one for me, and I was set to hit the highway. All went well for awhile. I put in the first Praise Baby CD for about three songs. Pearl then requested Go Fish. Go Fish lasted about two songs, and Miles requested we return to Praise Baby, via screams, so we did. We listened the whole CD then I'm pretty sure the next Praise Baby CD and then sometime after that, things went wrong. My van's CD player had been spitting out my CDs a bit warm, but hey, who am I to question the Praise Baby (aka Makes the Children Quiet) CD player? Then my CD player started giving me a "check your CD" message. What was I suppose to check? Do they expire? Who knows! So, I did try a brand new CD. It didn't work either. So, we switch to the radio and hope that in 10 minutes or so, the CD player has had its break and will be back to work. Well, 10 minutes later ... 30 minutes later ... the next day later ... my CD player still wants me to "check my CD."

Now, while I am content to listen to the radio, the little people who travel with me, especially the tots, are not quite so content, especially when they are tired. And, after listening to Macey cry for more than 30 minutes on the way here (I'm in Iowa), I have purchased an Ipod FM tuner thingy and hope it works on the way home.

I don't have a ton of the kids' music on my Ipod. It is, after all, my Ipod, but hopefully I have enough "babies, please don't cry for the next 5 hours" music to make it home. Wish me luck!! :-)

Oh, that sounds terrible! I wish I could help somehow... I do hope you are having a good visit with your parents though. :)
