This post is for my friend, Jenny.
So, you know how you go to the store, use your coupons and wonder if it is really making a difference? Well, yesterday I went to Hy-Vee to buy some of the sale items and the ones I needed a store coupon for. I grabbed a few other items too, as I haven't been grocery shopping in a week.
My groceries get rung up, the cashier gives me the total and I pay the bill. As soon as I get done paying the bill, I realize I forgot to give her my coupons. Luckily, the cashier was nice, and directed me to Customer Service. There, another nice cashier rang up my coupons and gave me back $15! I was so excited. The cash made the savings seem more "real." That's silly I realize, but I was impressed ... I figured it would be just a few dollars.
I know ... but it's the little things in life! :-)

Did you happen to see Oprah yesterday? I haven't watched in a long time because, frankly, her shows have been boring, but anyway, a lady was on and has been saving coupons for 15 years and estimated she has saved $72,000! Made me think I should think twice about coupons.
Good job! :) You know I love to hear about saving money with coupons! :) I saw Oprah yesterday and didn't really learn any new tricks, but I did enjoy it anyway. "The Coupon Mom" who was on there has her own website and you can sign up to get weekly e-mails telling you the best deals to pair with coupons from the Sunday paper. It's free, you should check it out. It wouldn't be as extreme as what I do, but it would still make it easier to see what the best deals are! :) Saving money is so much fun!
