School has begun!

My little Pearl is now a second grader.

How did that happen?  Wasn't she just standing in my kitchen making cookies as a three-year-old?

We had a great summer.  It was fairly low-key.  Pearl tried out tennis (not a huge fan), did an art camp (liked it bunches) and camp (her second fun-filled year).  Macey took on the world of gymnastics and dance and seems to have found a passion (at least for now):  gymnastics!  Miles spent a lot of time waiting for his sisters, but was able to start taekwando toward the end of the summer.  All the kids took swimming lessons!

As a family, we made a trip to Des Moines to see some friends, and each of the kids got to spend 4-7 days by themselves with my parents in Iowa.  They all loved that (because they love their grandparents).  (That explanation was for my Dad.  He regularly tells us we can't love stuff, only people.)

The kids and I took a trip to Brookings to check out the Children's Museum and ended up spending the night, which was fun, despite missing Daddy.

We got to see lots of family this summer too!  We met my sister and her family in Omaha for a fun weekend, we saw my parents quite a bit, the Wigg grandparents got some extra time with the kids throughout the summer, and my sister came and spent a week with us while her husband was working near Omaha.

Oh, and we added a furry member to the family.  In June we got ourselves a puppy!  She is a cute, little and naughty puppy.  Hopefully she will outgrow that, the naughtiness, not the cuteness!

And now, we are back to school.  Back to a less relaxed schedule.  Back to more evening activities.  Back to school!  And we wouldn't have it any other way.

Until next time,
