Seeing the Big Picture

We all like to see we can see the big picture, but who's big picture are we seeing?

Within the past week, two families have lost their leaders.  Two women are without their husbands, and six girls are without their fathers.  Sometimes, things don't seem fair.  But are we seeing the big picture?  God's big and perfect picture?

I just came from the visitation of my friend's husband.  His was an unexpected death.  Another friend lost her husband after a long fight with cancer.  His death, while quicker than anticipated, was at some level expected, especially in his final days.  Both families have lost a good, Christian man.  Our community has lost two great men.

It's not fair that these families have to find a new normal and adjust to life without their husbands and dads, and I eagerly await to see God's hand in all of this.

Until next time,

P.S.  God's hand and will was seen many times through our friend's fight with cancer.  Even in the end, his wife said that he breathed his last breaths just an hour before his daughter's birthday.
