Getting Ready

Inspired by our good friends, the Reilands, we are hosting our first, hopefully to-be-annual Christmas Coffee.  We have invited all of Pearl's class (and their families) and a handful of friends from church and around town.  We have no idea how many people to expect, but we're super excited.  So, this week we are cleaning and doing some baking.  In an effort to not go extremely crazy, some food will be purchased!  So far, I've made party mix, oyster crackers and pumpkin bread.  There are at least two more items to bake, and possibly a third.  We'll see how my day goes.

And, on the upside of poor behavior from our very own Pearl, I have help cleaning the bathrooms! :-)  Once again, yucky behavior equals yucky chores; and yucky chores equal life skills learned; and life skills learned equals a little less work for mom (who already knows how to clean a toilet).  It's a win-win situation all around.  (Of course, the yucky behavior not happening in the first place would have been better, but one must find the silver lining, right?)

Until next time

P.S.  If you are a reader of this blog, and I've neglected to invite you, please feel free to stop by on Saturday morning and give me hard time.  I'll give you an extra cup of hot coffee and some extra treats!

Yay! So glad you're going for it! I hope you have a lot of fun! I wish ours could be this weekend... I wish that every year, but it will never be so unless deer season magically gets changed to something other than the first weekend in December. :P
