But do they know?

Macey and Miles.
A mismatched set of best friends.
Brother and sister.
Twins.

Apparently they know all of that but the last one.  Really.  Maybe it's because they are boy/girl twins.  Maybe it's because we don't make a big deal about the twin thing.  (We really don't.  When they were little, they were "the babies," and now, sometimes we call them "the twins," but usually, we just use their names.)  So, maybe we shouldn't have been surprised at their response to the following question:  Are you a twin?  This was the response we got:

From Miles: "No, I am not.  Whatever."  And he walked away.
From Macey:  "No way, Jose!"  And lots of laughter.

We even tried changing up the question by asking them who their twin was, thus by reinforcing that they are in fact twins.  Miles' answer:  Baby Jace.  Umm, no, although he is a cute little boy, too!  (You can learn more about Baby Jace and his adventures with Big Sister LC, here.)  Macey, well, she stuck with her first answer.  Go figure.  She was being super silly tonight.

I suppose it doesn't really matter.  I want them to be individuals first and foremost.  The twin thing is awesome, but I don't want it to define them.  I want them to be independent little people who grow up into independent big people.  I want them to be the best of friends, to look out for each other and to love each other.  And eventually, I want them to answer those questions correctly! :-)

Until next time,
