Go Figure

Yesterday, Pearl had her Christmas program at church. Her part of it consisted of singing two songs with the other 3 year-olds through Kindergartners! She did a great job, but that's not what this post is about.

As we were getting out of our van for the Christmas program Gavin noticed that our plates had expired. Apparently if you move, the county/state/whoever can't find you to send you your notices. This has happened to us before! At the time, I joked, "good thing I don't see any cops when I'm leaving work at 3 a.m." Gavin asked, "Really?" Obviously he missed my sarcasm, "Nope, I usually see three or four of them!"

Fast forward about 12 hours ....

I'm leaving work, freezing and tired, and I noticed that the car behind me is one of our city's wonderful police officers. (And, I do really mean that!) He was behind me about two blocks, before the sirens popped on. Those lights are bright in the middle of the night! Thankfully, it was just a warning ticket, but now we have to track down an officer once we get the new tags and have an officer sign off on it. If we don't, they could issue a bench warrant for me. That would so not be good!! (This happened to a friend of mine.)

Gavin is downtown as I write this getting our new tags. I'm waiting for him to return so I can run around town like a crazy mommy checking things off her list!!

Until next time,
