Thankfulness

Gavin needed to head back to work tonight, which hasn't happened much lately, so I can't complain. The kids were a bit tired/grumpy, so tonight I was thankful for Noggin and some kid-appropriate TV. I'm also thankful for my DVR that has recorded Sprout's Good-night songs that can be played anytime I'm ready to send Pearl to bed, as she does not know how to tell time yet (another thing I'm thankful for tonight.)

So, I get the babies in bed, then move to Pearl's room to read her a story, Bible story, pray and tuck her into bed. As I'm leaving her room, she follows me and says she going to make her bed up on the floor. (This is a common practice for her, as she wants a new bed and a new room.) She then says, "Mom, if you don't mind, my pillow, the one with flowers on it, is in the car." She then told me that the big pillow in her room would take up the whole blanket on the floor. When I asked her if she would like me to get her pillow, she said, "Please." Luckily she was smart enough to use her manners, so I went to retrieve her pillow. When I threw it to her, it bopped right in the face, she giggled and said, "Mom, the babies are sleeping." Such the grown-up tonight!
