Changes

"There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book."

And for our extra-curricular activities, it was time for us to close the book.  We closed the book on our three-and-a-half year involvement at the gym that had been our second home.  A few people have asked us why ... unfortunately it was never the coaches or the owner, which just confirmed our decision.  When the people who are suppose to care about my children don't care that they won't be there anymore, my guess is the never really cared that much in the first place.

So why?  I really don't have a "this is the reason why" answer.  But, here is what I can tell you:  it was a lot of little things that just added up to:  "we're done turning the pages; it is time to close this book."  My girls (and I) will always be thankful for the experiences they had and the friendships that were made.  And no, it wasn't an easy decision.  We had invested a lot of time and money into this gym, and it was not easy to simply "no longer belong."

So, moving forward we have opened a new book:  While Macey misses her friends, she is happy at her new gym.  Pearl also has enjoyed the class she had taken, and is looking forward to pursing her passions:  music, acting and art.  Our involvement in cheer has come to an end, but both the girls will more than likely be in a dance class this fall.

We have decided to take one step at a time when it comes to adding things back into our life.  We have enjoyed the relaxed schedule.  We have enjoyed more time together as a family.  We have enjoyed how this book has begun.

Until next time,
