Okay, not really. After Pearl's piano lesson, we went to Wal-Mart for a birthday gift and came home with that and more outside Christmas decorations. Go Christmas!! I'm so thankful my husband likes Christmas, too!
After Wal-Mart, we dropped Gavin off at church for praise band practice. Ummm ... what to do. I know ... eat at Burger King!
Okay, probably not my favorite place to eat, but one does tire of McD's after awhile (and they have free ice cream with kids meals). After Burger King, we headed to K-Mart. That's right, folks: two discount shopping centers in one evening. Aren't we lucky?? Actually, we went to look for one of our nephew's birthday gift, but couldn't find anything I liked. And, I ended up getting clothes for the kids. Each child got two articles of clothing to add to their closets. Did they need them? Maybe Miles did. Oh well. The girls each got a dress and a new top, and Miles got two new shirts, as he couldn't decide between the two. What can I say, the kid likes new clothes. I'm thinking gifts are that kid's love language, but the jury is still out!
After K-Mart we headed back to church to pick up Gavin. That worked out pretty well. They finished practicing, while we read some books.
My favorite part of the night was toward the end. The guys were finishing up practice, so I told the kids they could go into the sanctuary to listen. Macey is our future bass player, so she likes to hear Gav play bass, and off she went. The next thing I see is Macey coming back out of the sanctuary saying, "They aren't very good. They aren't playing a song. They're just messing around." You just got to love that spunky, curly-headed, little girl!!
Until next time,
